Not so competent

In general, I am not as competent as you may believe. I try to do things like change a tire or bake a souffle or pick up guitar, but that doesn't mean I succeed. Quite the opposite, actually... The kitchen is no exception to this rule. It is actually in the kitchen that I am at my worst and klutziest. I am constantly knocking things over, forgetting to add ingredients, walking around in a frenzy, spilling sauces and breaking jars. So, today is a day just for me. Today is 'National Kitchen Klutzes Day. I'm quite excited.

In honor of this momentous occasion, I made one of my favorites: General Tsao's Chicken and stir-fry broccoli. The chicken has a nice spicy, sweet sticky sauce... But like the klutz I am, cooked things in the wrong order, and kinda off-time. Plus I spilled soy sauce (which just replaced the bottle that got broken last week), and corn starch all over the counter. What a mess... I'm a kitchen klutz.

As if that wasn't enough, I tried a new caramel cake recipe (for dad), I think it was the rain that made me wanna cook and bake all night :)
