15 minutes of fame...

Guess who found themselves (and parents) in the Herald yesterday! Purdy exciting. We had reporters calling all day. People at the Chinese takeout counter wanted our autographs. (that's not true, actually- dinner was at Panera). It's hard being famous, but we'll survive.

No seriously, this article was about the Relay 4 Life that my mom was honored at. She's a survivah! And no, we weren't "ATHERING for a cure"- we were "GATHERING..." Cancer survivors come and walk the first lap, behind a very cool and loud marching band, and then the family/caretakers join the survivors for the next lap, and then everyone takes turns going in circles. Quite exciting... So back to our 15 minutes of fame, that's my mom and dad making oogly eyes at each other while I nearly throw up. We look happy, though, don't we? Kat was so cool to come to the Relay at West Kendall Baptist (my bad, MBC WK...?) And we walked about a hundred laps, well, I might have left her for about 10 of those- oops! She's a trooper!
Props to my mom for making it through the last year with flying colors! Take that cancer, lol! She's cute... the other night I was feeling overwhelmed, and I told her I was thinking about not going to the Bible study that I was already late for, and her eyes got real big and she said (with a dead straight face) "That's the devil". Well, you can imagine I wasn't allowed to stay home that night. I like her. She's fun...
