I've heard of this bizarre thing that women do. Pregnant women do. I am not one of these "pregnant" women (thank God) but I am doing a strange behavior. It's called nesting, and it's a little obsessive. My theory is that I am actually not pregnant (duh) but digging my heels into "home" before I have to leave it.
All this to say, I love to be in the kitchen. Or watching dvds. Or both.
Today's vice: Lost Season 1
Today's victim: the ground turkey and frozen mixed vegetables in my fridge.
The outcome: An hour of down time after work, and then...
Turkey pot pie. It was delicious. Bland, comforting, and delicious.

Yum! I'm doing a chicken pot pie this weekend, a recipe from a Paula Deen book. Do you have a recipe that you love, or do you just wing it?
btw-this is Kerri, not Bald Man. Not sure why it has me logged in like that!
Usually I follow a recipe. I think it's in a Weight Watchers cookbook called "Stir it up!" and it calls for ground chicken and diced ham. This time though, I just winged it. I used water and flour (and a little cornstarch) to give it some consistency, and that wasn't enough so I threw in 1/2 can condensed (98% fat free) cream of celery soup. Gave it a nice creamy flavor without adding much fat. And the biscuits on top are the Pillsbury can of 'Golden Wheat' Reduced Fat, which are a godsend. Pot pies are a good dish to 'wing it.' And I'm sure anything Southern that Paula Deen makes tastes great! Good luck :)
