Inspiration can come from all places. I mean, I do some of my best thinking (maybe all of my best thinking) in the shower every morning. Today my inspiration came from a little chef in a movie called Ratatouille. That little chef, that little rat, was pretty impressive in the kitchen! I try to ignore the fact that the kitchen was periodically infested with rats... But perhaps the biggest inspiration today came from farm fresh food.

This little farm, cared for by the Old German Baptist (not Amish), has some pretty impressive produce. Growing up, it was all about the sticky buns for me. But now I try to pick up some of their fresh herbs when I go. They're better than you can buy at any store. For the first time today, I picked tomatoes. They were plump, ripe, juicy ones, ready to use tonight.
They inspired our dinner.

And I couldn't miss a few strawberries, which Yannick and I picked (great job, Yan!) and I threw them in a spinach salad with feta cheese crumbles and raspberry walnut vinaigrette. I sliced the tomatoes nice and thin, and added some fresh basil to throw together a thin crust margherita pizza. It was one of the best dinners I've had in a while. No contest...
And the best pizza I have ever made. I can't wait to go back to Knaus Berry Farm.
