How I Learn Useless (Revolting) Information... OR... One Thing I Will Never Cook

So, this journey begins at my feed reader on Bloglines.
I read a Just a Girl post, "kept the placenta in their freezer"
I thought it was bizarre that people would keep this stuff...
which of course led me to Google, "frozen placenta"
I clicked this link, "What Can I do With a Frozen Placenta?", as I wondered the same thing.
They discussed the option of EATING IT%$*@^~!!!
Which, according to the 7th commenter, is the action of placentophagy.
Wouldn't you know it that Wikipedia has a link to the Wikibook Cookbook, with recipes like this one: Placenta with Broccoli.

I died a little inside.
Allow me to reiterate: that will not happen on this blog...
But at least now you know how I learn things online. By being curious, and reading fast... and sometimes reading things I just didn't want to know.

Sadly, I have a cousin (yes, we wonder about her mental health) who kept the placenta in her freezer for a while (perhaps contemplating the broccoli dish?) until she finally had a placenta burial, where she invited family and friends, in her backyard. Yeah, I know, weird:/
