Best Week Ever

It's been a busy week and weekend- no time for blogging ;) But I'll catch you up!

Monday will not be included in the 'best week ever' because I was cramming for my final exam. I finished the awful class called 'Fieldwork in Religious Studies.' I don't even want to tell you what it was about- it was so boring. You would definitely fall asleep just trying to read about it. I'm so glad it's over.

Tuesday- I took the final exam. Also on Tuesday, my girl Kat turned 21. We went out to dinner at On the Border. She had no idea the surprise party that was actually coming on Saturday.

Wednesday- I don't remember what happened. But I'm pretty sure I thought about blogging at some point, and decided instead to practice guitar. That was probably the wiser choice, because...

on Thursday was guitar lesson. I think the worst is over. I've sworn to practice every day. And to not get frustrated at being a beginner for longer than I'd like to be. After the lesson, we had a little dinner party. I cooked orange chicken. What a phenomenal flop. There aren't words for how disgusting it was. So much so, that when it was done (if you can call that garbage 'done'?), I promptly ordered Chinese take-out. We had wonderful cashew chicken, mongolian beef, special fried rice and honey garlic chicken. My compliments to the chef. I didn't throw out the grossness orange chicken though. I renovated it later... it was unrecognizable.
The best thing about Thursday was getting to have Lauren stay over, and us sleeping in on...

Friday! I made cinnamon rolls, we headed off to Old Navy and then met Kristel for some spectacular party planning. Really, spectacular. We ended up going to Home Depot, Old Navy (again), Party City, Big Lots and super Wal-Mart... oh, and Carvel because we wanted a treat after all that running around. Later on came Cranium. I had never played Cranium. It is a bogus game. I think the makers of this game have developed technology that sabotages the girl team when players divide into 'boys against girls.' Here's why... Girls questions went something like this:
* Sculpt Medusa
* Fill in the blanks: M_ _ r _ m _ and our hint was "Knots that are not for naught" (the word was macrame)
Then the boys got very difficult cards, like:
* Impersonate Michael Jackson
* Finish the Dr. Seuss sentence "One fish, two fish..."
I want you to guess which team won.

Then the big day, Saturday. I got food together for Kat's party. We had hawaiian meatballs, hawaiian fried rice, shish kebabs with pineapple, hawaiian punch. You can only imagine what the theme was. Oh, and it was a pool party, which was nice because it was sooo hot. Kat, by the way, was totally surprised. We weren't sure how the surprise would go once she pulled up to her own house, since there were so many cars. So we decided to block the road. That was a good idea. Sort of... at least they came quickly and we didn't get hit by other cars.

Then today I worked inside and outside, doing fun things like picking up dog poop, taking out garbage, sweating like crazy in the sweltering heat, and other exciting things inside like going through paperwork, cleaning and cooking. Actually, the cooking was awesome. Remember that awful orange chicken? Well, I pulled it (kinda like shredding) and made pulled BBQ chicken. It was amazing. I made black bean corn cakes to go with that. And we made shrimp kebabs and even had some leftover food from Kat's party. Be jealous- it was amazing food.

One more thing... All pictures from here on out (until I save up enough money for a new camera) are thanks to Kristel. My garbage camera broke last week, and Kristel graciously loaned me hers. What an awesome person. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

If you think Cranium is bogus (btw, it's so NOT bogus:)you should play Battle of the Sexes. Girls answer boyish questions and the boys answer girly questions. Boy questions go like this:'
*What is the stick girls use on their lips called?
*What is the spray women wear for fragrance called?
*What brown substance do girls HAVE to eat when they are PMSing?
Girl questions:
*What is the washer torque carburating mangle used to fix?
*What sport has a move called the backward swinger mash?
*What baseball player has three kids named Folger?

Come'on now, WHO knows ANY of that junk???? And, more importantly, who CARES???
