I can't remember ever having cooked a Cuban meal. ¡Soy cubana arrepentida! Being half cuban, there's never been a need to cook Cuban food... why would I, when my grandmother cooks so good? It dawned on me though, that she won't be around forever, so I'd better get started. For Christmas I got 2 Cuban cookbooks, and I finally got around to using them :)

So, for dinner last night I made Roasted Cuban Bread, Black beans, Picadillo and Rice. It was good (especially the bread), but not authentic. I guess I have more practice ahead of me...

What would have made it authentic? Did you forget the sazón completa?
I used sazon completa... it just was missing something- I guess I'll have to watch the master (you) make yours :) haha
