It was MLK's birthday a couple of days ago, and now we're celebrating the holiday in his honor. Though it is a Federal holiday, and I'm a Fed... I'll be working an MLK day event. Last year Mark Batterson posted this quote, and it stuck with me:
“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven will pause to say, 'There lived a great street sweeper who did his job well'."
I know a lot of people have put him on a pedestal, and made his name great, but I'm grateful for the small things he did that had such a large impact. He really had good things to say, and they're still worth hearing today.
Read up on him, if you haven't. And definitely check this out.
