Call Me Thrifty

Another birthday, come and gone. I am twenty-four years old. And I feel younger than I thought I would at this age (when 24 was a decade away). Twenty-three was a fantastic age. I did just about everything I wanted to, and went deeper in my relationships, learned more about the arts, enjoyed photography, film and theater, tried out some culinary skills in the kitchen, and traveled just a little bit more. I loved 23.

So now I'm 24. I just moved away from "home". I just moved into my first apartment. I just started grad school. I just made friends... in another state. I just started looking for a church to call home. And I just got serious about being frugal. Money doesn't grow on trees after all.

I'll let you in on my secrets...
Sunday paper coupons, slickdeals.net, moneysavingmom.com, restaurant.com... I could go on. But I won't. Suffice it to say that this is how I've done today - in just one day:
Free Chick-fil-A sandwich (that was my lunch)
Free Coldstone LoveIt - Coffee ice cream with brownie (that was my dessert)
Free Glade Plug-Ins (two of 'em)
Free loaf of bread
Free Bare Minerals make-up from ULTA

Man, I love deals.
I may not be any wiser at 24, but I am learning how to stretch my dollars. Like my friend Merari says, poverty is a skill (and I am acquiring it).

So glad to hear you're settling in and adjusting to life in N.C. I didn't know they had a Coldstone up there! Keep your head up, Sis! <3
