LAM has an orientation every 6 months for new missionary candidates, every January and June. Today we met this orientation group at the airport to pick them all up, and brought them back for a welcome dinner and reception. Add to the mix of staff and candidates, a few board members who came to Miami for meetings.
I was privileged to sit with a great mix of staff, 2 candidates and a board member. In fact, I sat right next to the board member. This turned out to be an interesting coincidence. Halfway through the meal, I finished my ziti and went for the salad. You would think that salad would be an easy enough course to eat. You would be wrong. As I poked some lettuce onto my fork, the fork split in HALF and one end of the fork went flying onto the board member, along with lettuce and dressing! I uttered a quick, profuse apology and ran out of there, doing everything I could not to turn red. Seriously! I threw food at a board member!?!?! What's wrong with me?
