Welcome to Your Dominion (says the voice in my head)

After only 5 hours of sleep last night (because I'm having a hard time switching back to normal people hours) I reassured myself that I would nap this afternoon. But on my way home today, all I had on my mind was returning to the place I feel most at home... the kitchen. So I planned out a meal, stopped at the grocery store, and after about a month off of cooking, I made dinner!
Let me not get ahead of myself: Publix was amazing. I walked in with my cart in front of me and recipes in hand, and heard a magnificent voice in my head (probably me) saying: Welcome to Your Dominion. It was very Tarzan-in-the-Jungle-like. I loved it. I could have beat my fists on my chest in triumph. But I held back for the sake of other customers. Instead, I went down every aisle. Every aisle. I picked up ingredients to make red velvet cupcakes for a Christmas party on Tuesday, and other ingredients for the Peanut Butter Blossoms for tomorrow's Christmas party. But most important of all... I picked up dinner ingredients. We had (fresh, snapped, steamed, YUM) green beans, meatloaf, cheesy garlic bread and these amazing new Parmesan Potato Pancakes. At first I was afraid they would be a disappointment, but they turned out just right. It was oober weird to grate, yes GRATE, two pounds of potato... after I peeled them without the help of a potato peeler (still a little bitter about that missing item). But it was so worth it! And I loved it! And we had egg nog and Christmas tree cookies! Amazing, amazing, amazing return to the kitchen. I can't wait to do this again :)

...Oh, and in honor of having my life back again, I finally updated my blog about grandma...

Congrats on your return to the kitchen. It's nice to go back to something you enjoy, especially after being to busy with other matters. :-)
