Southern Comfort

What was supposed to be a blissful weekend turned into a hellish ordeal. I was sick- very sick for days. Truth be told, I am still very sick. I left my house yesterday afternoon for the first time since Thursday. Thursday, you see, is when I went to the doctor for a mere mortal 'throat infection.' This malaise blossomed into the worst illness I can remember in a long time. I could barely stand up, barely breathe, and the cherry on top- I puked for the the first time in a long time. Ickers.
Being the person that I am, I knew that food would help me feel better. For at least the last 6 months, I have had an unwavering, relentless, unflinching, stubborn craving for banana pudding. Real banana pudding. Real Southern banana pudding. You just can't buy that stuff down here. Plus, the few times I've tried to concoct it, it has been a dismal failure. But on Thursday (just before I went from 'sicky-poo' to 'deathly-ill') I pulled off a real Southern banana pudding. It was just what the doctor ordered. (Well, not really. She ordered a cocktail of antibiotics and blood tests... but that is beside the point.)
